Heat rate monitoring Karvonen formulae: Age 70 = 20-21 HR per 10 seconds; age 60 = 21-22 HR per 10 seconds, age 50 = 22-24 HR per 10 seconds, age 40 = 23-25 HR per 10 seconds and age 30 = 24-26 HR per 10 seconds.
