Dr. Mark Messina hold's both Masters and PhD degrees in Nutrition from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University respectively. He is the former Director of the Diet and Cancer Branch of the National Cancer Institute, and presently co-owns Nutrition Matters, Inc., a nutrition consulting company. He is an adjunct associate professor at Loma Linda University, and he is chairperson of the Soy Connection newsletter editorial advisory board and a regular columnist. He is co-author of the book, The Simple Soybean and Your Health.
